1. True Marine-Grade vs. Car Audio Gear
Do not be fooled by cheap labels. True marine audio equipment must have:
- IP67 Waterproof Certification: Totally protected against dust and capable of surviving complete immersion in water.
- UV and Salt-Fog Exposure Testing: ASTM-tested plastics and grilles that will not yellow, crack, or corrode under constant saltwater exposure.
- Sealed Circuit Boards: Amplifiers and source units must have conformal coated PCBs to prevent airborne salt moisture from shorting out internal circuits.

2. The Power of Tinned Copper Cabling
The fastest way a boat sound system dies is from the inside out through the wires. Standard copper speaker wire acts like a wick; once saltwater touches it, corrosion travels up the insulation, turning the wire black and killing signal flow.
We only install tinned-copper marine wiring. Each individual copper strand is coated in tin, preventing oxidization. We seal every terminal and connection with double-wall adhesive-lined heat shrink tubing, melting a waterproof glue barrier around the metal joints.
3. Cutting Through Twin Outboard Noise
When cruising out to Prince William Sound, twin 200HP outboard motors generate massive acoustic masking. To hear music clearly over the engine roar and wind noise without distorting your speakers, you need:
- Dedicated Amplification: Marine head units do not have enough power to push clean signals over engine noise. You need high-efficiency Class D marine amplifiers.
- Tower Pod Speakers: Horn-loaded tower speakers mounted to your radar arch or wakeboard bar throw directional sound directly into the cabin and cockpit area.
